Thanks for the review! I really like the idea of both making dungeons for the other player, but from the sound of it this is a little too basic with not enough guidance for expanding what could be done with it. Is there a game with a similar concept that goes deeper with it?

I am not aware of anything quite like Keepers of Questar , so even though it is a bit bare bones out of the box, it is still a keeper for the style of play it offers (battleship in a dungeon). The fact that it is competitive offering simultaneous DMing is kinda nice, even though it isn’t DMing in the traditional sense. I think it will be nice if Upper Deck and (eventually other players) start uploading their own monsters and traps to BGG to print out, as well as seeing if people create their own modes of play. I am sure there is room for a lot more fresh ideas, but I was only able to think of a scenario where “rescue the captive” might mean a fully mobile monster may be able to move about the dungeon carrying the captive/Questar for an added challenge with a moving goal post.
I am in the process of learning and reviewing Dungeons of Infinity, which kinda sorta looks similar in some ways, but obviously not with a build-your-own dungeon component. It does have both coop and competitive modes, so the competitive mode might be something to keep an eye on. We shall see in about a month.
another 2 player exclusive coop dungeon crawl is The Isofarian Guard. I am waiting on that one to wrap up development for sure!
